Summary
Nevada Public Radio offers a unique opportunity for a sales professional to apply for the position of Account Coordinator. Primarily responsible for inside sales as designated by the Sales & Marketing Manager, a list of accounts will be assigned. The Account Coordinator works cooperatively with Account Executives to fully service designated accounts. Additional responsibilities include providing both strategic and clerical assistance to the sales team in preparing proposals and with client communication. The Account Coordinator will answer incoming calls as a company representative, communicate with clients to gather advertising materials/copy, and will be the point person in speaking with potential clients with call in or assigned business inquires below a designated dollar amount. Finally, the Account Coordinator will assist the Sales & Marketing Manager with national agency business and general clerical support as assigned.
The Account Coordinator reports to the Sales & Marketing Manager.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
To become successful in this field, the Account Coordinator must be detail-oriented, creative, and personable, articulate clearly and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational and time management skills, basic computer skills, marketing skills, and effective customer service skills. The Account Coordinator must also be competitive, optimistic and ambitious.
Follow-through on inside sales from a list of assigned accounts.
Act as assistant to the Sales Manager or other designated management.
Complete the administrative needs of the Sales Department.
Support the outside sales team.
Make follow-up calls to confirm appointments, media buys or other sales correspondence.
Manage all the sales related activity of the company:
Create outgoing proposals
Compile insertion orders and folders when needed
Make media kits
Maintain media kit & one sheet distribution area
Answer incoming calls as a company representative.
Respond to sales inquiries via phone, e-mail and in writing.
Handle a high volume of customer inquiries while providing a high quality of service to each caller.
Speak with customers using clear and professional language.
Write up accurate and grammatically correct sales correspondence, including but not limited to proposals, contracts and proof of performance recaps.
Track sales orders to ensure that they are scheduled and sent out on time.
Carry out administrative tasks such as data input, processing information, completing paperwork and filing documents.
Contact potential customers to arrange appointments.
Resolve any sales related issues with customers.
Perform other functions assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
This position will be evaluated based on demonstrating the following knowledge, skills and abilities in carrying out the duties assigned above:
Must understand or demonstrate a high proficiency with media and sales terminology and client-focused sales strategies.
Must be fluent in English to a very high standard and possess strong communication skills, as liaison with clients and colleagues is a large focus within the job; second language fluency especially Spanish is a plus.
Strong written, oral and visual communications skills.
Must be computer proficient—particularly in Excel, Word and Powerpoint, and able to learn Marketron traffic software, and other media statistical software.
Ability to project a professional demeanor.
Skilled in time management.
Ability to actively contribute as a team member of the underwriting staff.
An understanding of and appreciation for advertising sales.
Must be organized and possess a high level of administration ability to effectively manage paperwork.
Qualifications
High School Graduate/GED and/or Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree in a compatible field is a plus.
At least one, but preferably two, years of clerical experience.
Driver’s license and insured vehicle that can be used for station business.
Salary
