InterIm Community Development Association (InterIm CDA), a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization located in Seattle’s Chinatown/International District, is seeking a full-time 1.0 FTE Accountant.

General Scope: The Accountant works closely with the Finance Director and other accounting staff to maintain accurate and complete financial records for the agency. This position has primary responsibility for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis and review of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. This position will cross train and provide backup for cash management, accounts receivable and payroll.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
Ensure financials follow the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”).
Ensure the semi-monthly payroll is processed timely and accurately.
Continually review and distribute as appropriate updated financial information, statements, reports etc.
Actively review current processes and procedures related to accounting and payroll to determine area of improvements, efficiencies and where processes can be streamlined.
Ability to assist with all applicable audits and third party requests, this includes the review of the financial statements, supporting documentation as well as meeting with the auditors when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Basic Minimum:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required.
Minimum of 2+ years of related experience.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Must be team oriented, problem solver.
Demonstrates knowledge of accounting & payroll related systems (QuickBooks).
Proficient with Microsoft office.
