Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, a national center for the production, presentation, development, and study of American Theater, seeks professional and enthusiastic candidates to join the Business Office team. This position will report to the Controller and be responsible for various day-to-day accounting tasks including preparing cash receipt journals, maintaining accounts receivable ledgers, tracking purchases on company credit cards, handling corporate licensing, registrations, and credit applications, assisting with annual onsite audit, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Prepare cash receipt journals for sales, internet sales, fundraising, and event rentals.
Maintain and track invoices due and reconcile accounts receivable ledgers.
Oversee company credit card usage and track spending.
Ensure current status of all corporate licensing and registrations.
Prepare credit applications and request insurance certificates.
Assist Payroll Manger by reviewing time sheets for accuracy and distributing pay checks.
Assist with accounts payable processing as needed.
Other general business office tasks as needed.
Update and maintain cash accounting procedural manual
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in the arts or business/accounting preferred. Previous experience in accounting, general bookkeeping and not-for-profit environment are desirable. Passion for theater a plus.
