We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Financial Analyst to join our team within a leading Santa Monica based Social Service Agency that has been serving the community for 50 years. Essential Job Functions:
Assist with budget preparation, modification and financial monitoring of all city, state, federal and private grants
Managing and updating accounting department procedures, documentation, and financial processes
Manage month-end closing procedures and assist with production and analysis of financial statements
Ability to supervise two staff; a Payroll / Sr. Accountant and AP Accounting Specialist
Oversee payroll processing
Oversee accounts payable processing and deposit functions
Cash flow and A/R monitoring and analysis
Provide fiscal audit support for both the agency and grant related audits, including account analysis, year-end closing, and required audit schedules
Assist with preparation of department financial reporting and analysis
Prepare all monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual invoicing and reporting for city, state and federal grants
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience in not for profit accounting and government contract accounting and knowledge of GAAP
Strong computer skills including Excel, Blackbaud Financial Edge and Paycom payroll systems
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with particular emphasis on excel
Self starter who can creatively problem solve
Supervisory experience
Ability to work independently and in a team
Minimum AA Degree; BA/BS desired
