About Ashoka and Changemakers Ashoka is the largest network of social entrepreneurs worldwide, with nearly 3,000 Ashoka Fellows in 70 countries putting their system changing ideas into practice on a global scale. Changemakers is Ashoka’s online platform for social innovators to accelerate their impact, with a record of hosting over 80 challenges and sourcing more than 20,000 changemaking projects with partners such as the LEGO Foundation, Nike, eBay, Google, and the Rockefeller Foundation.

We have an immediate need for a Summer Finance Intern to join our team and be a changemaker!

Position Summary You know you want to make an impact in the world. You are a mathematical thinker with strong quantitative analysis skills. But how will you utilize these strengths to make a global impact? The Changemakers Finance Internship is designed to give students and recent graduates a hands-on opportunity to do exactly that.

For decades, Ashoka has identified and invested in social entrepreneurs around the world in the effort to foster positive systemic change. Finance interns have the specific opportunity to support the financial efforts within a dynamic non-profit organization that is a pioneer in the sphere of social innovation. Past finance interns have specifically worked on financial dashboard design, country reports and general financial analysis.

Requirements:  Possess a broad, technical knowledge of Microsoft Excel  Have a desire to learn more about the accounting field  Enjoy quantitative research, including work with spreadsheets and data integrity  Strong entrepreneurial mindset and written/oral communication skills  Desire to contribute toward positive social change  Possess a strong intellectual curiosity  Ability to work independently or as a member of a collaborative team  Show comfort working in an unstructured environment  Current undergraduate and graduate students, or recent graduates  Ability to commute to our Global Office in Arlington, VA  Time commitment of 20+ hours per week from June to September

Responsibilities:  Expense analysis and development of financial dashboard and summary reports  Excel programming and project budget support  Assisting with routine invoices and expense tracking

Start Date: Summer / June 2015 Duration: 3 to 6 months Commitment: 20 Hours/Week Compensation: Unpaid
