The Controller is responsible for the oversight of all accounting and reporting activities. The Controller will oversee a team of up to ten staff members. The Controller will work closely with school principals, program and operations leaders, and their staffs, to educate and support finance, accounting and compliance procedures, and to explore and improve support of school operations. In addition, the Controller will partner with the Senior Leadership Team, and the Directors of key home office functions to enhance the support and operation of those functions. The Controller may be involved in supporting presentations to the finance and audit committees, as well as leadership.
For the year ended June 2014, Aspire Public Schools had $223 million in total assets and total revenue over $151 million.
Desired Qualifications:
CPA and/or MBA is desirable. BA in Accounting or related field is required.
5 to 10 years of professional experience.
Nonprofit or school/education sector is not required.
Experience in complex, multi-site and multi-state organizations is highly desired.
Rising or high potential Accounting Managers or Assistant Controllers are encouraged to apply.
