Job description
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Controller is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of AASCC and providing strategic leadership as part of the executive management team. Responsibilities include: 1.Plan, develop, organize, implement, administer and evaluate the agency’s fiscal function and performance. 2.Direct the development, maintenance, and enforcement of fiscal policies, procedures, and internal controls. 3.Coordinate the development and monitoring of annual agency budget and individual program budgets. 4.Participate in the development of the agency’s goals, strategies, plans, and programs. 5.Provide timely and accurate budgets, financial reports, and analysis of financial trends and the agency’s financial position in order to assist the President & CEO and the Board of Directors in the performance of their responsibilities. 6.Coordinate the annual external audit, including implementation of the competitive bidding process every three years. 7.Serve as staff liaison to Investment Committee, schedule regular meetings, and research and make recommendations as requested. 8.Provide technical financial advice to subordinates, peers, President & CEO and Board of Directors, through reports, training, and individual consultation. 9.Support continuous improvement of the budgeting process through education of management and supervisory staff on financial issues affecting their budgets. 10.Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position. 11.Oversee risk management, ensuring adequate insurance coverage for the agency, staff, directors, and volunteers. 12.Review/approve equipment leases, maintenance contracts and other Agency vendor agreements. 13.Regularly evaluate the fiscal department structure and work plan and set goals for continual improvement of efficiency and effectiveness, including provision of opportunities for professional development. 14.Serves as member of agency executive management team. Applicants must have senior level management experience in a large, successful non-profit organization.
Grants Management Experience necessary
Local candidates preferred.
CPA preferred.
