Picture the Homeless (PTH) seeks a full-time Development Director to lead all grassroots and foundation fundraising activities. Reporting to the Executive Director, the director is responsible for identifying, securing, cultivating and engaging PTH donors and funders.
Founded in 1999, PTH is a grass roots organization founded and led by homeless New Yorkers. We are organizing for social justice around issues like housing, police violence and the shelter-industrial complex.
Major responsibilities include:
Foundation Grants:
Managing grants calendar
Writing and submitting reports, proposals, funding renewals etc.
Researching new funding sources and potential funders
Developing relationships with foundation partners
Assisting Executive Director in preparing for funder meetings, briefings and visits
Individual Giving:
Designing and implementing grassroots strategies to increase the number of individual donors
Increasing the sustainers program and the donor retention rate
Planning and implementing special fundraising events and appeals
Managing donor communications and acknowledgments
Maintaining donor records in database
Requirements:
Commitment to the values and mission of Picture the Homeless
Experience in fundraising and grant writing for organizing/non-profits
Successful track record in relationship building
Experience in managing grant obligations and completing reports
Experience with CiviCRM is preferred
