Development (Fundraising) Manager – United Way of Greater Union County – Elizabeth, NJ

Purpose of Position: Works in partnership with volunteers and members of the Marketing and Fund Development team to plan and implement an annual, multi-faceted fundraising Campaign. Development Manager is a dynamic and creative fundraiser that is responsible for securing sponsors and increasing campaign revenue.

Primary Responsibilities: Corporate and Employee Giving: • Assists in planning and implementing Campaign growth strategies within assigned account portfolio. • Cultivates relationships and provides year-round service to Employee Campaign Coordinators (ECC’s) and Human Resource Directors within assigned account portfolio. • Assists in identifying and recruiting volunteer leadership. • Identifies account potential and participates in Campaign goal setting. • Prepares materials and accompanies key volunteers on fundraising calls. • Supports and manages efforts of Team Chairs. •

Other Campaign Responsibilities: • Develop, plan and implement – volunteer training initiatives relating to the Annual Campaign as assigned. • Attends Resource Development Committee meetings. • Attends Campaign Cabinet meetings and provides all necessary support to Team Chairs to prepare them for these meetings. • Year-round member of Fund Development Team. • ANDAR Account database management • Provide high and quality customer service by maintaining a positive and proactive relationship to all assigned accounts. • Provide appropriate training/resources, manage timelines, provide direct support i.e. speaking engagements, volunteer activities, event facilitation, etc.

General Responsibilities: • Attends all team and staff meetings. • Participates on Team Projects, as determined from time to time. • Performs other duties, as assigned, execute campaign business plan to exceed revenue goals, deliver organized, structured and persuasive presentations, using effective written and verbal communication, Manage fiscal accountability for significant income requirements by providing accurate projections.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and two to five years related experience and/or training in business, outside sales ,corporate business development or fundraising; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to travel throughout Union County, North and South Plainfield, New Jersey as well as work evenings/weekends as necessary. Use of personal vehicle in the course of employment to travel throughout region. Significant local travel is required for this position.
