Position Description – Executive Director
The Metanoia Project, Inc.
This part-time position has vital strategic and operational responsibility for The Metanoia Project and provides ongoing leadership for the organization’s management, communication, fund raising, outreach and growth initiatives. As the primary representative and public face of the organization, the Executive Director must be able to exemplify Metanoia’s vision, ideals and strengths through his/her own conduct and commitment. S/he has day-to-day control of the organization and is responsible for its operation and evaluation. The Executive Director reports to its Board of Directors.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:
– At least five years’ experience working in progressively responsible leadership positions, preferably for a non-profit organization;
– Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in theology, sociology, social work, non-profit management, psychology or a related field;
– Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people while establishing and building working relationships with other like-minded not-for-profit organizations;
– Demonstrated record of developing, implementing and evaluating strategies and initiatives that have guided an organization to the next stage of growth;
– Experience working with the homeless population considered a plus;
– Strong business and management skills combined with a strong spiritual focus and a passion for serving our guests;
– Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget;
– Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation;
– Demonstrated success in working with a Board of Directors, cultivating strong working relationships and recruiting future members.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
– Prepare and manage the annual budget
– Manage day to day operations for staff and guests
– Supervise, coach and evaluate all staff members and programs
– Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems
– Work with the Board of Directors to develop strategic goal and recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve them
– Actively engage and energize The Metanoia Project’s volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders
Fundraising & Communications:
– Is responsible for Metanoia’s marketing, public relations, and fundraising initiatives designed to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures;
– Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multi-disciplinary project skills;
– Will deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger community presence and recognition;
– Will expand local revenue generating initiatives and fundraising activities to support existing program operations;
– Will be assisted by a grant writer and be responsible for expanding and strengthening relationships with funding organizations;
– Will build and strengthen relationships to garner new opportunities especially with faith-based communities in the community.
