Finance / Office Admin Officer – Developments In Literacy – Irvine, CA

Duties & Responsibities

Donor Database & Receipting –

Manage gift analysis and entry procedure and process gift batches in a timely and accurate fashion to adhere to organizations. receipting/acknowledgement policy

Produce various reports pertaining to donation entry process; submit and distribute report requests to staff

Operate and maintain a computer and database system; maintain integrity of the donor lists and adhere to system operations

Pledges Receivables

Record donors’ pledges and maintain pledge files

Track outstanding pledges and produce pledge reminders letters as appropriate

General Bookkeeping

Bank deposits and monthly bank reconciliation for several accounts

Credit card reconciliation with internal controls

Collect and maintain W-9’s for all vendors

Year end closing (incl. W-2’s and 1099’s)

Assist with the annual budget process, audit and tax reports

General ledger analysis and journal entries

Human Resources support (personnel files, benefits etc)

Attend designated staff meetings, trainings and/or workshops

Office Adminstration

Perform other accounting and administrative activities as needed in other departments

Assist with mailings (direct mail solicits, proposals, etc.)
Maintain records, storage and common areas

Provide support in setup and execution of local events and event management

Answer the phone & general support

Qualifications

A university degree or equivalent education and/or experience

Strong working knowledge of Donor Perfect and/or other donor management system

Minimum 3 years in nonprofit bookkeeping experience; working experience of Quickbooks

Proficient in MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to interact effectively with volunteers, donor, Board members, staff and the general public

Full-time positon based in Irvine office
40 hours a week; Exempt Positon
Health, Sick & Vacation Benefits
Salary Range: $30,000 – $34,000 DOE
