Stupid Cancer, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is the largest charity that comprehensively addresses young adult cancer through advocacy, research, support, outreach, awareness, mobile health and social media. Our mission is to empower those affected by young adult cancer by building community, improving quality of life and providing meaningful survivorship. Our charter is to ensure that no one affected by young adult cancer go unaware of the age-appropriate support resources they are entitled to so they can get busy living.
JOB SUMMARY
Stupid Cancer is seeking a skilled, entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about making a difference to manage the company’s financial systems, administrative operations and overall fiscal/operational health and sustainability. The Finance/Ops Coordinator will manage a wide variety of responsibilities, depending on Stupid Cancer’s immediate needs. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
FINANCIAL
• Build and track Stupid Cancer’s fiscal year budget
• Produce quarterly financial reports for the board, including budget-to-actuals, profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet
• Generate weekly financial position reports by reconciling with bank accounts and forecasting upcoming short-term and long-term expenses
• Enter all expenses and invoices into including all eCommerce receipts for the Stupid Cancer Store and related platforms
• Record business credit card expenses
• Review transactions for accuracy, including correct amounts and proper coding
• Receive all invoices and ensure that all bills are paid in a timely manner
• Reconcile bank, credit card and PayPal statements monthly
• Manage Stupid Cancer’s annual nonprofit audit, handling all communications with the organization’s accounting firm and ensuring that all filings are submitted in a timely manner ADMINISTRATIVE/OPERATIONAL
• Reception and triage of incoming mail, email and phone calls
• Data mining and connection facilitation across social media platforms
• Customer service fulfillment • Relationship management with organizational stakeholders MANDATORY GURU SKILLS
• QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Four-year college degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 1-3 years relevant experience with QuickBooks (specifically) and financial systems
• Experience and interest in non-profit financial management and accounting • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with significant attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize independently • Enthusiasm for the mission and message of Stupid Cancer
• Proficiency in all major social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter
• Past experience with eCommerce platforms
