Financial Administrator – Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) – Boston, MA

Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Financial Administrator will have bookkeeping and fiscal management responsibilities ranging from daily operations to financial reporting. This benefitted position requires 30 hours per week, with flexible schedule, and may require additional hours during busy seasons such as end of fiscal year (audit) and end of calendar year.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Provide financial information and support to MIRA’s Directors, staff and the Board of Directors
Process and submit payroll on bi-weekly basis and prepare 1099 forms at year-end
Utilize QuickBooks to record and maintain financial records
Produce monthly financials, budgets and all related reports to the Board
Reconcile all accounts on a monthly basis
Prepare annual operating budget and re-forecasts of budgets as needed
Prepare audit reports and schedules throughout the year to be prepared for audit time
Provide budgets for proposals and report on existing grants and contracts
Support MIRA staff with day to day operational matters
Manage all vendor relationships and contracts, including the contracts with independent contractors
Oversee office systems, tools and technology operations (database & website).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in non-profit financial management and operations
Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Orientation to detail and deadlines
Experience with Federal, State and AmeriCorps funding is a plus
