Job Description:
Reporting to the Director, Financial Management & Analysis and working under/alongside the Senior Financial Analyst on key tasks and deliverables. This position is responsible for the analysis and monitoring of the financial condition of UJA-Federation of NY’s affiliated agencies. This role involves working closely with commission staff, agency professional staff and other members of the finance team.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist Senior Analyst in the preparation of financial assessments for a portfolio of agencies, delivering timely information for improved insight and decision making by UJA-Federation Leadership.
Assist Director and Senior Analyst in conducting fieldwork at organizations to produce operational analyses, cash flow projections and profitability forecasts.
Gather, synthesize and interpret financial information from both internal and external sources including Audited Financial Statements, 990 Filings, Agency operating and capital budgets and data gathered from fieldwork.
Be an active participant in the development of solutions to issues raised
Perform ad-hoc analyses and participate in projects as needed.
Skills and Experience:
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical and written skills, with a demonstrated ability to conduct thorough and objective analyses of finances and operations.
Understanding of GAAP accounting principles and the ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, including the ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
2 years relevant work experience.
