Lead Cashier – Retail Clerk – Temecula – Safe Alternatives

We are seeking a Lead Cashier to join our team at Alli’s Resale Shop. Alli’s Resale Shop is a program of SAFE Alternatives for Everyone. SAFE is committed to providing services for children, youth and families who have experienced or are at risk of abuse and violence. Alli’s is a special part of our mission because the proceeds from sales directly support SAFE services to help our families move towards living violence free lives. Alli’s supports SAFE’s programming for individuals experiencing domestic violence. Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkouts; receive Alli’s donations, as well as monitor dressing rooms and the sales floor. They proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information about our goods. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure customers receive superb service from the first moment they arrive at our Resale Shop
Accurately complete cash and credit card transactions with customers using the Square POS System
Oversee functions of the Resale Shop.
Maintain and oversee volunteers and Alli’s team members in regular product rotations.
Develop creative displays of merchandise in different areas (home goods, clothing, shoes, accessories or books).
Share expertise in categories (home goods, clothing, shoes, accessories, or books) for pricing purposes.
Straighten, clean and categorize and price merchandise (home goods, clothing, shoes, accessories or books)
Contribute to our great customer service by providing a greeting and offering assistance to customers.
Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store shelves.
Follow all policies and procedures to ensure all Team Members are safe
Assess the customer’s need for loading assistance, taking into consideration the merchandised being purchased
Give customers your full attention throughout the transactions
Adjust daily schedule for shift personnel to ensure optimal efficiency.
Train volunteers
Resolve customer complaints
Manage inventory
Monitor all entrances/exits, request proof of payment when necessary
During our annual holiday season there may be some overtime required

Physical Requirements:
Must continuously stand or walk regularly, requires lifting/handling/carrying clothing or equipment of low to moderate weight (3-20 pounds)
Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items
Requires the ability to move around the store to assist customers
Requires the ability to maneuver merchandise when necessary

Additional Qualifications:
Respond to Resale Shop Calls, taking messages and relaying the message in a timely manner
Provide customers with friendly service and option of text or e-mailed receipt
· Offer a friendly greeting “Welcome to Alli’s” smile and make eye contact with customers

· Thank each customer by saying, “Thank You for Shopping and supporting Alli’s

Qualifications:
Retail experience preferred in customer service, merchandizing, and loss prevention.
Preferred knowledge of Square system for checkout.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Strong leadership qualities.
Must have good customer service and people skills.
Must be able to successfully complete a background check and be bonded
Must be able to work 40 hours per week
