Healing Across the Divides is a 501c3 that works to improve the health of marginalized communities in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. We are currently seeking a hardworking and committed Major Gifts Fundraiser/Development Executive to expand our efforts both in the U.S. and internationally. This is a part-time remote position. Compensation is highly competitive.
Position Summary
The Major Gifts Fundraiser/Development Specialist will coordinate and oversee all aspects of Healing Across the Divides’ major donor process including identifying new funding sources, particularly major individual donors. The Development Specialist will work with both staff and the Executive Board, under the general direction of the Administrative Director. This is a remote part-time position.
Primary Responsibilities
Developing and institutionalizing a major gifts fundraising program
Research and identify new, in particular major individual donors but as appropriate government , corporate and foundational funding prospects in any or all the following target areas:
Arab-American/ European/Middle Eastern;
Jewish-American/European/Israeli
Women’s health or women’s empowerment in general;
American/European/Middle Eastern governmental agencies.
Perform outreach in particular to family foundations and actively network and cultivate relationships with potential major individual funders.
Maintain and implement funding calendar activities, including cultivation activities.
Strengthen Healing Across the Divides’ capacity to compete for funding calls in coordination with relevant stakeholders via strategic thinking, analysis of market competition, and an understanding of the organization’s strengths and weaknesses.
Work within an approved budget and help develop and implement cost saving measures.
Assist in other fundraising-related projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Superb interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate, develop and maintain new relationships with potential funders.
Highly organized, able to work under pressure with little supervision while using independent judgment.
Superb written and oral communication skills and the ability to presents numerical data clearly and effectively.
Database management and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, Power Point and Excel).
Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize complex information clearly while using intuition and experience to complement data.
Ability to handle emotionally and politically charged topics with professionalism, poise and confidentiality.
Proficiency in English required. Additional proficiency in one or more of the following languages preferred: Arabic, Hebrew or a European language (French, German, Italian, Spanish).
Personal commitment to one or more of the following causes: Middle East peace, women’s rights, healthcare advocacy and human rights.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions.
Ability to listen and request clarification when necessary.
Willingness to accept feedback and assess own strengths and weaknesses.
A desire to continuously build knowledge and skills, pursue training and development opportunities when possible, and share expertise with others.
