The International Centre for Social Franchising (ICSF) is seeking a Manager in our US office, to be based in San Francisco, California. The Manager will work on a number of client and internal projects. The Manager will lead and deliver on consultancy engagements, sustain and develop new relationships, conduct high quality research and analysis and support the social mission of the organization.
This individual will be responsible for interpreting and reporting on complex information, driving the organizations’ scale strategy, developing corresponding business and financial models, and evaluating social impact. The Manager will report directly to the US Director and to the US board. Initially, the Manager will work on existing domestic and international projects, with existing team members. Over time, the individual will start to develop and deliver on new projects.
This role requires an enthusiastic self-starter with a high attention to detail and the ability get involved in all aspects of this growing organization. With a strong education background and a proven project management track record, this individual will be an excellent communicator with the ability to listen and see the bigger picture.
While this role is based in San Francisco, as a small and growing organization you are likely to be required to join other ICSF teams on international work. This individual must be dedicated to ICSF’s mission, and therefore, the mission of our partners.
Role description
Be able to distinguish and articulate the most critical challenges facing clients.
Develop scale strategies and operations plans for nonprofits and social enterprises
Produce high quality deliverables to meet client needs
Conduct desk- and field- based research
Manage multiple, complex projects across sectors and geographies focused on scaling impact
Support building the US practice by maintaining and developing client/partner relationships
Convey and present written and graphic information to clients in a concise and clear fashion
Manage and develop junior staff
Ensure projects are professionally delivered with high quality, on time
Qualifications & Experience
BA degree
At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally across the social and
commercial sectors
Project management experience managing multiple projects on time and on budget
Previous work with senior decision makers
Experience in business planning and financial modeling
At this time, the candidate must have existing permission to work in the US
Ability to translate strategic initiatives into realistic implementation plans
Self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic and flexible environment
Organized, methodical and attentive to detail
Team player willing to “pitch in,” yet work effectively independently
Excellent interpersonal skills: able communicate effectively and succinctly
Demonstrated passion for the social sector
Exceptional analytical and qualitative skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Bonus experience
Fluency in Spanish and/or French
Experience living and working in developing countries
Previous consulting experience
Relevant graduate degree: MBA, MPH, MPP, M.A. International Relations/Affairs, etc.
