The Manager of Finance, reporting to the Director of Finance, is part of the Finance team, which provides institutional financial management in addition to student-facing financial services for the overall organization. This individual will be supporting institutional financial management. As the Manager of Finance gains exposure to the financial operations at Relay GSE and gains experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic, and expanding institution, she or he will be positioned for future leadership opportunities at Relay GSE.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Implement all bookkeeping and accounting functions including but not limited to: payroll, cash disbursements, cash receipts, and bank reconciliations
Generate reliable financial reports monthly, leveraging critical thinking skills to verify their accuracy
Utilize strong problem-solving skills to identify necessary accounting entry adjustments based on the output of high-level financial reports
Consistently improve accuracy of detailed accounting records by performing miscellaneous accounting reconciliation projects proactively with accuracy
Maintain organized, accurate and secure accounting and finance files at all times, including but not limited to: performing rigorous quality control on all accounting records and ensuring accurate inventory records are kept across different teams
Collaborate with Finance team to produce backup materials and schedules for yearly audits
Manage day-to-day communication with employees regarding regular accounting processes including but not limited to: payroll, cash disbursements, cash receipts, etc
Qualifications
First and foremost, the Manager of Finance must share Relay GSE’s sense of urgency about the need to improve student achievement through phenomenal teacher and leader training. Additionally, candidates for the position must have the following:
BA, preferably with a quantitative or logical reasoning focus
2-3 years of accounting or finance experience
A high level of attention to detail
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Strong organizational and communication skills with a service oriented mentality
Ability to work efficiently, intensely, and within an entrepreneurial environment
A passion to join a mission-driven organization
Authorized to work in the United States
