Manager of Online Fundraising – National Trust for Historic Preservation – Washington, DC

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is looking to revamp our entire digital presence. We are looking for an experienced online marketing and fundraising professional to help us leverage our new site capabilities to reach new audiences and drive membership growth. The Manager of Online Fundraising is responsible for online fundraising campaigns from implementing strategy and production, to execution and analysis. This position manages fundraising campaigns to increase online revenue for the National Trust for Historic Preservation including developing and testing new innovative online membership packages. This position reports to the Director of Membership Fundraising and works closely with colleagues across the Marketing Division, including the Manager of Email Marketing and Engagement.

Duties

Manage the creative process for online fundraising, including creation of copy and artwork for new member online packages as well as new fundraising campaigns.
In close coordination with colleagues in the Marketing Division, design and execute testing strategy to measure and improve online fundraising performance on ongoing and new digital strategy.
Create segmentation for fundraising emails, identifying audience and messaging variations, and coordinate with the Manager of Email Marketing and Engagement and the Senior Database Manager to ensure consistency with online and offline segmentation.
Manage online fundraising calendar. Responsible for making sure deadlines are established and met to stay on schedule and maximize fundraising opportunities. Coordinate the online fundraising schedule with both the offline fundraising calendar and the organization-wide email calendar.
Provide regular reports detailing fundraising campaign performance, including response and revenue metrics; analyze campaign results; and provide insights and recommendations.
Work closely with staff in the Marketing Division to manage coordination of content and ensure messaging is consistent. Represent Membership Department in weekly content meetings.
Keep abreast of online fundraising best practices, trends, and benchmarks to increase effectiveness of online fundraising campaigns.
Manage creation of donation forms in Luminate for online fundraising campaigns.
Assist with email implementation when necessary.

Qualifications

At least five years of professional experience, particularly in a geographically dispersed nonprofit.
Digitial Marketing and crowd source fundraising experience preferred, with proven understanding of online fundraising best practices and digital marketing principles.
Demonstrated success in creative email and online design and an understanding of web design best practices.
Strong analytic skills, including experience with test design, customer segmentation, and interpreting results. Problem-solving skills, including issue identification and prioritization.
Experience with management of constituent relationship databases and email marketing platforms. Experience with Luminate Online Marketing is desirable but not required.
Proven ability to comfortably and genuinely manage online and offline audiences with personality and professionalism. Demonstrated success in marketing to and engaging culturally diverse audiences and partners.
Effective presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across divisions to implement projects and achieve results. Track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with multiple stakeholders.
Creative self-starter with the ability to achieve results with moderate supervision. Ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently, and respond to a high volume of ongoing requests in a timely fashion. Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
Ability to continually develop skills related to use of rapidly changing technology and communications best practices.
Must be tech savvy with intermediate to advanced skills in standard MS Office applications, as well as relevant on-line marketing software and systems.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of professional experience) required.
