Roots of Success is a non-profit social enterprise that produces and distributes an environmental education program that is used with youth and adults who have not been served well by the education system. The curriculum and teacher training utilize innovative, non-traditional learning approaches that immediately engage participants and prepares them for jobs and career pathways in the green economy and to improve conditions in their communities. The program is taught in job training programs, prisons, jails, juvenile facilities, high schools, youth programs, libraries and other settings in 36 states and 3 countries. We seek an enthusiastic professional to join our team as the Marketing and Outreach Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Business development, marketing writing, research, and interviews with existing and prospective clients
Research and populate lists of potential new programs
Supervise and manage campaigns and outreach strategies to outreach to new users in the distinct communities we serve
Create and update outreach collateral and copy edit collateral including: brochures, email blasts, blog posts, newsletters, presentations, website copy, etc.
Create slideshows (and other relevant materials) for audiences that are used to promote Roots of Success to clients, conference presentations, symposiums, in meetings with stakeholders, and in other venues
Manage follow up from conferences, symposiums, meetings, etc.

Candidates must have:

Strong commitment to promoting social justice and equity
BS or BA in relevant fields related to Business, Education, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, Environment, Criminal Justice
Experience working in one of the following sectors (1-3 years experience):

workforce development
corrections – federal, state, and/or privately run facilities
re-entry programs
high schools and/or youth programs

Expertise in strategy and outreach communications important
Excellent computer skills using Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to generate slideshows, reports, and email marketing materials
Highly motivated and able to work autonomously
Organized, responsible, reliable, attention to detail
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent oral, written and communication skills
Comfortable working as part of a small, diverse team
Proficient with social media and email marketing tools like Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, etc.

Details
