Part-time to full-time position (0.8 FTE – 1.0 FTE)

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented, responsible, and hard-working person to join our team, located in Oakland, California. This person will play a critical role in assisting office staff by performing various administrative functions and providing project support. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, have computer and grant administration skills, and be a quick learner. Depending on performance and interest, Worksafe will provide opportunities to expand your roles and responsibilities.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial
Carry out basic bookkeeping tasks, including processing payments, grant awards, and donations
Assist with compiling budget documents and other financial reports
Administration
Schedule meetings for Worksafe staff and Board of Directors, and manage all logistics
Assist with basic human resources
Maintain and improve filing systems, and provide clerical support
Communications
Maintain contacts database (CRM)
Help plan and execute e-newsletters, and track results
Assist with website, social media accounts, and media outreach
Program
Assist in scheduling and organizing training programs
Assist in the creation of advocacy materials and our annual report
Maintain project data for the purposes of grant reports and applications, and assist in compiling grant reports and other program activity summaries
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate information clearly (written and verbal)
Strong analytical and research ability
Self-starter, independent problem-solver, with ability to take initiative to get the job done and trouble-shoot challenges independently
Administrative experience preferred (1 year +)
Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; experience with QuickBooks Online strongly preferred
BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred
Proficiency with CRM systems (Salsa or Salesforce), HTML, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred
Experience with Google Apps, general tech troubleshooting, including software and network issues a plus
Bilingual in a language of one or more California immigrant worker populations desirable
Experience in fundraising/development for nonprofits, including grants administration and event planning a plus
Passion for protecting the health and safety of workers, their families, and communities (environmental health and justice) required
