Operations Manager Role

This is a 501c3 non-profit. The mission of IQ&IM is to provide exemplary education and training for the development of Qi-Mind-Body-Soul integration that will empower individuals in self-healing and fulfillment of their inherent potential. The organization was started in 1997 as Institute of Qigong & Internal Alternative Medicine (IQ&IM) for promoting self-healing and self-care with qigong education and research. The name changed to Institute of Qigong & Integrative Medicine (IQ&IM) in 2010.
Revenues: $0 to $3 million
We do this by providing multiple services including: Yi Ren Qigong classes and seminars, Yi Ren Qigong teacher training, certification, and continuing education; IQ&IM Therapeutics; Yi Ren Qigong research; and annual events, such as Qigong Conferences. Our web site is www.iqim.org.
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Operations Manager is responsible for the operational success of IQ&IM ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation. The Operations Manager will, after a probation time, manage a growing staff. The Operations Manager is a key external face of IQ&IM nonprofit in the community.

Key Responsibilities
Develops and implements strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas
Ability to work with multiple business units of wellness services, teaching, community outreach and research, and expand each of these areas
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective communicator
Strong management and HR experience preferred
Cultivates existing relationships with vendors with the goal of ensuring sufficient space and resources, and access to services for IQ&IM’s students, therapeutic clients, teachers, and all events
Responsible for operational budget
Works as a liaison to staff and contract teachers and consultants to ensure smooth operation across all programs
Oversees administration of the teacher training and scholarship programs, and associated administrative tasks
Works with the Executive Director to recruit, hire, and manage the performance of all staff members
Develops contract positions, hire contractors, sets high-quality evaluation for contractor performance, writes and executes contracts and license agreements for required work within budgetary guidelines
Oversees and executes event marketing and PR for IQIM programs
Works with Volunteer Coordinator and Education Manager, and Registration and Office Coordinator to oversee scheduling volunteers for seminars, classes and events
Prepares and delivers ongoing communications to IQIM’s growing constituency
Nurtures and expands programmatic partnerships with allied organizations that share interest in Yi Ren Qigong
Establishes consistent, objective program performance standards of accountability
Develops operational structure and content for growth through managing brand, marketing, web design, operational structure, and student and teacher registration processes across all business units of the organization
With Executive Director, develops and manages budget for operations
With Executive Director and Board of Directors, develops and implements operational policies
Qualifications
The individual has team management experience that she/he can use to grow and further develop a proven program. The successful candidate leads programs, partners with the ED and works collaboratively with a high-performance team. Specific requirements include:
Minimum of a BA, MA preferred
HR background preferred
Non-profit management experience desirable
At least 2 years of experience in a team management role
Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
Strong organizational and time-management skills. With many projects to sustain and many contacts to maintain, being an organized and self-directed person is a necessity.
Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems
Strong project management skills managing projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
Strength in hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility and performance
Understanding of human resources, employee performance improvement plans, and corrective action policies
Demonstrated results in managing and proven experience negotiating win-win agreements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, flexibility, and a commitment to and passion for IQ&IM nonprofit’s mission, and alignment with IQ&IM’s values
Salary
This is a part-time employee position for 20 hours /week. This position will most likely have an increase in hours.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
