Global Partnerships (GP) is a nonprofit impact investor whose mission is to expand opportunity for people living in poverty. For the past 20 years, GP has invested in a range of market-sustained social enterprises – including microfinance institutions, agricultural cooperatives and social businesses – that deliver essential goods and services to people living in poverty. GP’s investments are focused on four impact areas: health services, rural livelihoods, green technology and microentrepreneurship. Since inception, GP has made approximately $170 million in impact investments in over 85 social enterprise partners across 13 countries. The GP team currently consists of 32 dedicated, high-performing employees, with offices in Seattle, Washington; Managua, Nicaragua; and Nairobi, Kenya.
The Operations Officer will play a critical role in GP’s investor, donor and fund operations. This position is responsible for complete oversight and integrity of the donor and investor database (Raiser’s Edge), including all data entry and gift processing, pledge tracking and gift acknowledgement. In addition this person must be able to perform sophisticated data analysis and cleanup, and create complex queries, exports and reports. This position will also oversee administrative work related to investor and fund operations. Database Management
Provide oversight, administration, and management of multi-function relational database.
Provide database support and regular, accurate, user-friendly reporting to provide staff with key data.
Maintain accurate constituent records through precise data entry, research and coding, and creation of systems to track and maintain gift and financial data.
Maintain data integrity by setting and enforcing standards and controls including managing a standardized protocol for updating the database and maintaining historical testing documentation.
Oversee and manage aspects of gift entry, gift acknowledgement and pledge redemption process, including running credit card transactions and depositing gifts, documenting in-kind revenue, and tracking outstanding pledges and issuing reminders to ensure timely payment of pledges.
Develop and coordinate training of staff on current and new applications of Raiser’s Edge as needed.
Qualify major donor prospects by researching and analyzing individuals and corporations, including the use of software such as WealthEngine.
Provide support to direct mail and email communications, including; creation of mailing lists, web interface, execution with the mailing house and/or communications team, campaign testing and analysis of results.
Manage contracts, relationships, and upgrades with Blackbaud and credit card service provider.
Maintain connection between Raiser’s Edge and Kintera—GP’s e-communications and online fundraising system.
Keep current with new data management systems, best practices and technologies and make recommendations regarding new and existing vendors.
Data Analysis
Responsible for the design and creation of data analysis to support efficient, effective fundraising strategy and performance including analyzing trends, developing reports & dashboards in support of key performance indicators and conducting follow-up analysis to explore variances.
Compile statistics, forecast trends, optimize segmentation and conduct strategic and predictive analyses of capital resource activities including campaigns, donor activations, investor outreach, marketing and events.
Develop, implement, and manage a standardized protocol for recurring and ad-hoc reports to track fundraising performance as well as operational efficiency, ensuring reporting is routine and queries are easily manipulated.
Lead interpretation of data including translation into usable formats, actionable items and metrics for the Capital Resource Team and larger organization.
Manage the registration process for all guests attending GP’s large and small events.
Report to the Capital Resource Team weekly on revenue generation and registration status.
Support Financial Business Processes
Maintain accurate billing and recording for investments, pledges, donations and other forms of capital support (including in-kind gifts, grants, recoverable grants, pass-through gifts, etc).
Produce monthly and annual financial reports, working with the accounting department to reconcile bank accounts, fund balances, investment activity and donor reporting.
Develop a thorough understanding of business processes; evaluate and subsequently implement recommendations to optimize processes.
Assist with the preparation of audit documents and support forecasting projection initiatives.
Investor Operations
Produce, secure and track investor subscription documents; and produce reports on investment activity.
Produce, execute, distribute and track investor promissory notes.
Manage and track annual reporting requirements; collaborate with others, as needed, to fulfill requirements.
Track note maturities and reinvestment decisions; assist with preparation of related notice communication.
Carry out legal due diligence on investors to ensure compliance with our Know Your Client procedures.
Other Administrative Duties
Provide reception area and phone back-up as needed, directing incoming calls and welcoming guests.
Assist operations team with maintaining accurate file systems for investor and fund documentation.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in relational database management required; Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Proven experience with data entry and with creating and managing queries and reports.
Excellent technical and program skills required, including: Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and ability to learn new software quickly.
Bookkeeping experience and experience working on a nonprofit development team preferred.
Must be very detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills.
