Project Manager – Roots of Success – Berkeley, CA

Roots of Success is a non-profit social enterprise that produces and distributes an environmental education program that is used with youth and adults who have not been served well by the education system. The curriculum and teacher training utilize innovative, non-traditional learning approaches that immediately engage participants and prepares them for jobs and career pathways in the green economy and to improve conditions in their communities. The program is taught in job training programs, prisons, jails, juvenile facilities, high schools, youth programs, libraries and other settings in 36 states and 3 countries. We seek an enthusiastic professional to join our team as the Project Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Manage client accounts and support client activities
Support critical program activities like trainings and distribution of teaching materials
Maintain program relationships through emails and phone calls
Write professional copy for use on the website
Execute communications plan via email (direct and mass) and social media
Update relevant materials used to promote Roots of Success to clients, conference presentations, symposiums, in meetings with stakeholders, and other venues
Develop and improve existing account management systems
Manage a team of interns
Work closely with the Executive Director

Candidates must have:

Strong commitment to promoting social justice and equity
BS or BA in relevant fields related to Business, Education, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, Environment — administrative background is important
Experience working in education and/or workforce development fields preferred
Project management or account management experience (1-3 years experience)
Excellent computer skills using Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and WordPress
Expertise in developing and managing CRM (Salesforce, Steak) systems and staff communications platforms (Slack, Google Hangouts) (1 year experience)
Experience developing and writing reports
Highly motivated when working autonomously and balancing multiple projects
Organized, responsible, reliable, attention to detail
Excellent oral, written and communication skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Comfortable working as part of a small, diverse team
Proficient with social media and email marketing tools like Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, etc.

Details
This position is part-time to start, 24-32 hours a week, with the possibility of becoming a full-time position. Candidates must be able to work in our Berkeley, CA. office. To learn more visit www.rootsofsuccess.org.
