Position Description
Link Community Charter School’s Finance and Operations Coordinator supports the general functions of the Business Office and directly supports the Chief Operations Officer for the school, in areas relating to school finances, food services, human relations, physical plant, operations, and special projects.
Specific Responsibilities
Finance
Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
Properly encumber and process payment of purchase orders.
Prepares payroll for processing
Enters data into CDK, PowerSchool, and other public school accounting and school-related software systems;
Maintains a complete and systematic set of records in the form prescribed by the commissioner of education of all financial transactions of the charter school.
Conducts research to gather information to respond to written and verbal inquiries;
Maintains vendor relationships and ensures proper approvals and payments are made on a timely basis;
Prepares vendor payments in accordance with standard purchasing procedures;
Manage student fundraising program
Compiles and records cash receipt summaries.
Reconciles cancelled payroll and accounts payable checks with bank statements and verifies bank balance with statements.
Assist with audit preparation as necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Food Services
Coordinate student application and eligibility process.
Support program execution and ensure compliance.
Process receipts for food services program and generate worksheets to track sales and submit for program subsidy.
Monitor student participation.
Prepare reports as required.
Human Relations
Maintain all employee files, agreements/contracts.
Track employee time off, including maintaining staff vacation, sick, and personal days.
Coordinate distribution of employee communications and materials. Schedule presentations from benefit/service providers as needed.
Physical Plant and Operations
Prepare and place equipment and supplies orders upon approval
Support preparation for mandated school inspections and drills
Manage facility repairs and maintenance requests
School Life Responsibilities
Makes regular contact with staff, and other departments for the purpose of exchanging information; pertaining to Human Resources, building operations or purchasing.
Actively support school-wide events
Continually reinforce the school’s Core Values, expectations and school spirit, first and foremost by modeling such values and then teaching them to our students.
Meetings and Professional Development
Maintains professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service education and other professional growth activities.
Participates in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees and other school system groups, as appropriate.
Upholds and enforces school rules, administrative regulations and board policy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business administration required.
Working knowledge of public school accounting software, CDK, a plus. Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Strong bookkeeping experience required.
Strong multi-tasking skills.
Detail-oriented team player who is willing to roll up sleeves and get the job done
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in providing reports and documentation.
Required criminal history check.
Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Reporting, Supervision, Working Relationships and Evaluation:
The Finance-Operations Coordinator reports to the Chief Operating Officer. S/he has working relationships with the School Business Administratior and all members of the faculty, staff and administration in the school.
Terms of Employment:
The Finance-Operating Officer is a 12 month employee. The Finance-Operating Officer receives salary and benefits as approved by the Link Community Charter School’s Board of Trustees. School policies and procedures, as approved by the Board of Trustees, are provided to all staff in a Staff Handbook, which is available at the school’s website (www.linkschool.org).
