Senior Accountant – Drew Child Development Corporation – Los Angeles, CA

Drew Child Development Corporation is a nonprofit organization providing high quality child care and development, educational, social, and mental health services to the South Central Los Angeles community. We have 140 employees and a $22MM operating budget.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this strategic position is responsible for maintaining the financial and business transactions, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and compliance with contractual and regulatory financial requirements such as OMB Circular A-122 Cost Principles for Nonprofit Organizations:

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and analysis of the financial statements and reports.
Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts.
Prepares journal entries, variance analysis of budget vs. actual providing explanation for material variances.
Maintain the general ledger in accordance with accounting principles.
Assist with the preparation of program reports including monthly billings/cost reports, including the annual company audit as well as other programs fiscal audits.

The successful candidate will have a BS degree in Accounting or related field of study; a minimum of three years’ experience in the financial department of a nonprofit organization with multi government contracts. Experience with Fundware is a strong plus.
