Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Controller with carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance and Accounting Team. This position is right for someone who wants to work in the rewarding field of wildlife conservation and is highly professional, a skilled communicator, flexible, and a self-starter. This position is full-time with paid time off and medical benefits.
Key responsibilities:
Record donations in Salesforce and Quickbooks in a timely manner
Review and record invoices in a timely manner
Calculate and post sales tax in WCN financial system
Assist with payroll related tasks and reconciliation
Manage the petty cash account
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations of all bank accounts
Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Assist the Controller with closing the books
Prepare partner analysis reports for monthly operations meeting, or as needed by Executive Director
Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit
Prepare correspondence as needed within the department
Other administrative and financial support as requested
Experience and Skills:
At least one year accounting experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed, proactive and resourceful
Able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and deadlines.
Proficient with QuickBooks, preferred
Experience with Microsoft Excel, preferred
Experience with[[http:Salesforce.com|Salesforce.com]] a plus
Passion for wildlife and wildlife conservation
Education:
Associates Degree, preferred
