Statewide Chatline Coordinator (Des Moines-based): Inspired by bell hooks’ “From Margin to Center,” Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa decided to take the main role in running a new program of chat services for victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Iowa. It’s a revolutionary move that expresses the sentiment of “From Margin to Center” and underscores Monsoon’s feminist framework. The chatline will serve all Iowa residents, regardless of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, who are in need of resources or services for victims of domestic violence and sexual violence. Monsoon is seeking a Statewide Chatline Coordinator for the program. The coordinator, who will help with the planning, implementation and evaluation of the program, is required to be proficient in communications technology.
