Student Accounts Receivable – Helene Fuld College of Nursing – New York, NY

Helene Fuld College of Nursing, an accredited, associate and bachelor degree granting institution in New York City, is seeking a person responsible for Accounts Receivables. The appointee to this position is responsible for the timely processing and maintenance of student accounts. Helene Fuld College of Nursing may add, change, or remove essential duties and responsibilities at any time.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Receiving and recording payments from students onto the SONIS system.
Preparing electronic deposits for the bank; allocating each payment to a proper General Ledger account.
Preparing a daily reconciliation of tuition payment received from SONIS figures and the bank deposit; printing daily backups for the files.
Crediting student accounts for financial aid awards when notified by the Director of Student Services.
Preparing tuition refunds in line with policy when written notification is received from the Director of Student Services regarding a student’s withdrawal from the College.
Maintaining schedule of overdue student accounts.
Preparing a monthly receivable and aged report analysis to aid in reporting bad debts per policy.
Preparing a monthly reconciliation of grants disbursed and awarded to students on SONIS system.
Other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance.

Skills/Qualifications:

Two to four years of related experience. A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Business or Accounting.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), QuickBooks, and software databases.
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent attention to details are essential, including proofreading documents, and lines of text and/or numbers.
Ability to communicate professionally, with clarity and brevity, required both orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to initiate action, organize projects, solve problems, enhance communication, or improve processes.
Ability to handle a variety of individuals and situations in a professional environment with a diplomatic manner and pleasant disposition.
Also have the capability to discreetly and confidentially handle sensitive topics and correspondence.
Excellent management of time and other resources to meet established goals within agreed upon time frames. This position requires a high degree of integrity and ethics.
Must be available to work earlier or later shifts as needed.
