Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue is an independent, inclusive spiritual community of 115 households in Seattle, WA, practicing an evolving Judaism as a path to awakening. We foster a Jewish spirituality for all ages that supports each individual, is realized in community and manifests itself in our world as peaceful acts of compassion and love. Bet Alef is striving to create an evolutionary community and organizational structure that mirrors this purpose. Bet Alef is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Executive Director. Working closely in partnership with our Rabbi and Board, the ED is responsible for overseeing the administrative side of our community, including communications, membership, fundraising, programming, and finances including close management of our $250,000 budget. The E.D. also provides guidance and support to lay leaders & volunteers, leadership to the staff team, and participates in strategic planning. Having a deep understanding and commitment to Bet Alef’s mission is key. Presently, this is a ¾ time position with potential to grow into full-time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring attitude. . .a people-person skilled in building relationships with familiarity with membership organizations • Extensive experience managing multiple priorities successfully • Strong attention to detail • Understanding and successful management of organizational budgets • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written • Understanding of Jewish rituals, customs and holiday celebrations; some familiarity with Integral Spirituality a plus. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Competency with MS Office products • Experience with QuickBooks, NEON, WordPress & various social media an advantage • Enthusiastic, flexible, highly motivated, responsible and a good sense of humor
