Vice President of Development – Back On My Feet – Philadelphia, PA

The Position

The VP of Development will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will ideally be based out of either Philadelphia, PA or NYC. This position will be primarily responsible for substantially growing BoMF’s corporate sponsorship, individual donor base, grants & foundation revenues, and developing a national development strategy.

Essential Functions

Develop and implement comprehensive National Development Strategy

Develop new National Corporate Partnerships (typically at a minimum of $100K level) and support management of existing National Partnerships (including National Board partnerships)

Annual Fundraising goal of $500K minimum (which will increment over time). Goal of $200K minimum by this calendar year end. This can come from a mix of Corporate Partnerships, Individual Giving, Grants, and other revenue streams but must include at least one new national partner

Expand Grants/Foundation and Individual Giving funding streams

Determine opportunity for developing funding streams not currently in the Back on My Feet funding mix (i.e. Government Funding)

Identify and drive the extrapolation of local partnerships in some markets into other local markets

Develop and lead innovative revenue generating campaigns

Management of 2 staff – National Events & Communications Director and National Coordinator

Oversight of national marketing function including (but not limited to) branding, website, communications and media/PR (including management of any agency relationships in this space)

Represent organization at conferences, events and fundraisers as required

Support management of local Chapters as required (i.e. in absence of Executive Director)

Support CEO with National Board management as required

Unequivocal passion for the organization and the members we serve.

Interest or experience in running or other sports, with the ability to speak directly about the transformative qualities of running/sport

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred

7+ years of proven and successful nonprofit development experience in all areas of development, in particular corporate partnership development

Ability to develop a strong understanding of the homelessness services landscape as well as the inner-workings of BoMF, including the current development methods, marketing, finances and programming/data tracking

Proven management experience and demonstrated leadership skills

Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent public presentation skills

Proficiency with all Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Proficiency with Salesforce or Donor Management software preferred
