Exciting opportunity to work for a growing association management company as an association manager/account manager in Alexandria, VA. We seek an energetic, motivated, well organized, multi-tasker, and team player to manage the operations of the largest chapter of a national professional membership association, as well as work on other association clients. Need project management experience, preferably with an association or professional services company.
This individual will be responsible for the overall quality and implementation of programs and services provided by ASCENT Management, LLC, an association management company. The Account Manager is responsible for exemplary quality service, client satisfaction, the successful achievement of association’s goals, and the continued financial strength of the association. Telecommuting is not an option.
Serve as project manager of an association’s day-to-day operations.
Work with executive director, president and board – in all areas of association management.
Work closely with association committees.
Work closely with sponsors and advertisers; ensuring they receive their benefits in timely manner.
Prepare & execute project plans/timelines and budgets.
Event management – e-marketing, logistics and registration for 10 events/year.
Write, layout & distribute monthly e-newsletter.
Write and update website.
Coordinate between national association and chapter.
Actively promote and market the association client(s) in a way that demonstrates the value of membership.
Responsible for the proper execution of associations’ Board of Directors meetings, including agenda preparation, gathering of reports from committees and staff, attendance at the meetings, recording of minutes (when Secretary is not present), and follow through on all action items.
Stay informed of latest developments in association’s’ field, and association management; advise of strategies and tactics for association(s) to remain as the leading association in its field, or to become leading association in its field.
Some travel required. Some early morning, evening/night and weekend events/activities are necessary, as that is the nature of associations.
Education & Experience Requirements
Four-year undergraduate degree and minimum of 2 years of professional work experience. Association or non-profit or AMC experience, a plus.
