The Peace Alliance is a national grassroots educational and advocacy organization of 60,000 members and supporters focused on transforming how individuals, communities, and nations respond to conflict and violence. Position
Reporting to, and in partnership with the President, the Development Director will spearhead development efforts as The Peace Alliance continues to grow. A new position within the organization, the Development Director will have the opportunity to build our development capabilities. This is a staff, not a consultant position within the organization, and for the right candidate, we are open to a part or flex-time arrangement.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement The Peace Alliance’s annual fundraising plan.
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
Create, perform, and manage data collection and management for all contact and gift processing.
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.
Create and implement strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors.
Provide oversight and serve as development point person for all organization events and activities.
Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising.
Develop and implement hands-on grassroots engagement and fundraising through our membership drive program, fundraising events, grant writing, and new fundraising approaches, including using social media, crowd funding, and other on-line resources.
Qualifications
BA (required), MA (a plus)
Minimum of two to five years of successful fundraising experience.
Success with developing fundraising strategy and implementing tactics.
Organized, motivated, collaborative, mature individual with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to wear many hats in order to get the job done in a small and hands-on environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to engage donors at all levels, make large asks, and build lasting relationships through effective communication with The Peace Alliance contacts.
Flexible; able to adapt to changing conditions; and willing to take initiative.
Able to multi-task, prioritize, handle deadlines with poise, and work as part of a team.
Understanding of the philanthropic/grant making community.
Demonstrated success developing and implementing an engagement strategy using social media and other online resources.
