SoBRO has an immediate opportunity for an Employment Specialist. The candidate will establish and maintain activities to develop, locate and secure employment opportunities for SoBRO participants. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills as an Employment Specialist/Job Developer to initiate and maintain a collaborative working relationship with a variety of business and industry representatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Will be required to conduct cold calls to potential employers to seek job placement opportunities;
Conduct and track business development efforts utilizing weekly reports for a minimum of 40 calls per day;
12 job placement outcomes per month and 3 placements per week;
Refer qualified applicants to employers and conduct necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in a position to ensure employer is satisfied and address their needs;
Make follow-up calls to participants after each interview has been arranged to ascertain outcome;
Cultivate strategies for next steps after participant’s interview;
Manage participant assessments to ensure suitable placement;
Conduct follow-up to support job retention efforts, prepare written reports on a weekly basis of job development, job orders, client engagement and job placement activities;
Research reports of employment opportunities and employment trends in the labor market;
Participate in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs; research internet, newspapers, agencies, and other resources for job leads;
Spanish speaking a plus.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
