We are a successful and growing consumer owned natural foods store located on the beautiful Oregon Coast. Our business is working on expansion plans for the near future. Our new Grocery Manager will work closely with the General Manager and Management Team to continue growing our business as we gear up for relocation and expansion.
Our company boasts a team oriented environment staffed with positive, customer service-focused people. The Grocery Manager will be part of our store Management Team.
Job Purpose
The Grocery Manager ensures the accuracy and consistency of purchasing, pricing, and stocking of grocery items. The Grocery Manager hires and oversees store buyers, receivers, and stockers in order to meet goals for sales, margin, inventory turns, labor, product selection and customer service. The Grocery Manager will be able serve as store manager during General Manager absences.
Candidates must meet the following job requirements:
– 5 years natural foods retail experience
– 5 years previous supervisory experience that includes hiring, training, evaluating, and giving direction
– A proven track record of offering excellent customer service
– Experience working with financial targets and budgets
– Proven leadership experience in a retail setting
– Experience with a growing business
The ideal candidate will also exhibit a strong interest in the changing natural foods landscape. He or she will be able to learn trends, observe competitors regularly, and bring innovation to our merchandising and overall store operations. They will bring an enthusiasm for leadership and take pride in developing a team-oriented approach to the Grocery Department.
