Art with Heart (AWH) is a social enterprise that is on a mission to help children overcome trauma through creative expression. We create books that use art to help kids heal. Since our inception in 1996, we have pioneered an innovative, effective and sustainable approach to meeting the needs of high-risk youth through the creation and distribution of therapeutic books and supporting programs. Our books are widely recognized for their quality, creativity, and most importantly, their effectiveness.
POSITION SUMMARY
Art with Heart seeks an integrated marketing professional to translate organizational social enterprise objectives into B2B and B2C marketing strategies that convert to revenue, customer retention, acquisition, and satisfaction – and most importantly – influence our reach and impact on the children we serve. This position will work closely with the Brand & Publishing Director to integrate campaigns with brand consistency and will be under the direct supervision of the Managing Director. This position will manage a line of product brands (therapeutic books) from strategy to execution, merchandising, sales and promotions (direct mail, web content, trade shows, and collateral). To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable managing multiple projects at a time, and adjusting priorities based on need and urgency in a fast moving environment.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Art with Heart is looking for an experienced self-starter to:
1. Develop strategic short and long-term marketing communications plans to achieve organizational social enterprise objectives
Perform internal analysis of book sales trends by channel to outline and rationalize key sales goals, marketing strategy and tactics, and roadmap to achieve organizational goals, including market potential and forecast analysis, sales volume targets, strategy, tactics, etc.
Utilize Salesforce database to generate reports and provide data analysis to support planning efforts.
Develop product-specific and nonprofit-specific communications plans and calendar.
2. Implement strategic, integrated marketing plans
Work across all marketing functions to create sale conversions, return on marketing investment, and budgeted revenue attainment while respecting nonprofit budget constraints.
Work with Brand & Publishing Director to manage brand merchandising across all channels
Ensure all marketing communications are cohesive and brand-aligned for both efficiencies and maximum impact utilizing brand management across digital, social, print, public relations, and advertising media.
Recommend and deploy an appropriate mix of communications strategies and tactics appropriate for our specialized market channels.
Coordinate with staff, contractors, and/or volunteers as necessary to ensure full integration of social media efforts.
3. Cultivate key local, regional, and national/international account relationships
Identify and engage significant institutional and individual relationships with key customers for increased marketing and sales opportunities and partnerships.
Explore brand loyalty programs and channel incentives to add value and increase customer retention.
Participate in or lead customer presentations as needed.
KEY COMPETENCIES
At least 4 years of Integrated Messaging experience
Highly developed teamwork skills and effective communication skills
Depth of experience in written communication, market research
Experience with sales and/or customer care
At least 3 years of experience in B2C and B2B Digital Marketing experience and nonprofit communication
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
Demonstrated ability to see the big picture yet recognize how data will inform next steps
Experience managing external PR and communication firms and contractors
