Manager, Corporate Relations – Ford’s Theatre Society – Washington, DC

Ford’s Theatre Society in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Manager of Corporate Relations to help develop and strengthen financial support from corporations at the $10,000 – $50,000 Board of Governors level to advance Ford’s Theatre’s institutional goals and objectives. The Manager is a front line fundraiser who works closely with the Director of Development to create strong cases for support.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with Director of Development to establish corporate membership and sponsorship goals and monitor progress towards those goals
Coordinate, write and execute corporate funding proposals, required grant reports and funding materials for existing and prospective donors
Work with the Director of Development on a portfolio of current and prospective corporate donors at the $10,000 – $50,000 levels
Draft corporate stewardship communications, including newsletters
Research prospective corporate donors
Support Director/Director of Development in their management of a portfolio of corporate underwriters at the $75,000+ level
Support the Ford’s 100 Committee (volunteer corporate board) to identify, cultivate and solicit prospective corporate donors, with the aim at increasing corporate membership and selling gala tickets
Help ensure the execution of corporate recognition and benefit fulfillment, including underwriter fulfillment, in a timely manner
Assist senior development staff to develop strategies for cultivation events and other events for corporate donors and prospects
Help finalize and personalize gift acknowledgements in a timely manner
Conduct guided tours of the Ford’s Theatre campus as requested, specifically for corporate partners, prospects and their guests

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required
Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills; public speaking ability
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and be in control of numerous tasks at any one time
A minimum of 3 years development experience and preferably 1-2 years of corporate fundraising experience
