Marketing Associate – American Conservatory Theater – San Francisco, CA

American Conservatory Theater, one of the country’s leading repertory theaters and actor training institutions, has an immediate opening for a passionate, driven individual to join our dynamic Marketing Department. The Marketing Associate supports the marketing department’s efforts to build awareness and sales for A.C.T.’s mainstage productions, and works with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute marketing plans for A.C.T.’s Conservatory programs. This position is a great opportunity for an individual with a basic background in marketing and social-media skills and a passion for the non-profit sector seeking an opportunity to be part of an energetic, fun, and creative team at a world-class arts organization.

For A.C.T. Marketing Department initiatives, support includes but is not limited to:

Provide overall support for the programs and strategies implemented through the Marketing team

Work with Marketing Manager to strategize and implement Conservatory marketing plans

Create, coordinate, and execute outreach programs and marketing partnerships with other Bay Area organizations for conservatory programs

Assist Director of Sales with marketing copy for mainstage and conservatory shows

Manage papering efforts for all conservatory shows

Create and track opening night invitations and oversee opening night seating for staff, cast, invited guests, and press

Serve as the main contact for A.C.T.’s external press agent to fulfill all press ticket requests and seating, as well as create press packets

Coordinate expense tracking and invoicing, including payment of department credit card

Work with Web & Social Media Manager to create and execute social media plan for mainstage and Conservatory productions

Oversee all department external list trades and requests

Help to create, coordinate, and execute all promotional codes

Assist in coordination and staffing for special promotions and events (i.e., Theater on the Couch Nights, OUT nights, etc)

Research, develop, and maintain promotional / marketing contacts and relationships across the Bay Area on behalf of A.C.T.

Oversee the stocking of marketing collateral, and creation of signature cocktails for each show, at all performing venues.

Oversee Bay Area-wide distribution of all marketing collateral

Oversee regular communications with Bay Area corporate and travel concierges

Manage and oversee the organization of the marketing archives (press clippings, marketing collateral, strategies)

Represent the marketing department as needed at meetings and external functions

Position requirements include:

Degree in marketing/communications, or 1–3 years equivalent work experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact comfortably with various personalities

Exceptional customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.

Exemplary organization skills and attention to detail

Some graphic skills (knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus)

Ability to prioritize and multi-task

A great candidate is an outgoing, creative people-person who is able to work both independently and collaboratively with other staff members

Some night and weekend work may be required.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
