The Marketing and Business Development team provides leadership and coordination of all marketing functions. It develops, implements, and evaluates marketing strategies and tactics in support of association-wide goals and initiatives. The department is responsible for growing revenue streams by promoting products, services and programs; identifying new product opportunities; identifying and valuing specific target audiences; driving comprehensive marketing and branding initiatives; developing and nurturing strategic alliances, identifying and analyzing market data; enhancing organization’s image and broadening its appeal to new and more diverse market segments; and ensuring that marketing activities are aligned with organizational goals.

Your role –

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Business Development, the Marketing Associate works collaboratively with marketing, publications, conferences and other AILA team members to transform ideas into persuasive words for e-mails, brochures, postcards, flyers and web content. Role also is accountable for assisting in the growth of revenue streams by developing concepts and writing persuasive copy promoting AILA products, services, and programs with strong organizational and project management skills.

We expect your project workload to focus on email marketing (75%) – conceptualizes and writes persuasive e-mails for AILA members and nonmembers regarding various AILA products and services, primarily, in-person conferences, audio/web seminars, and publications, and print marketing (25%) – conceptualizes and writes persuasive copy for print materials highlighting various AILA products and services, including flyers, postcards, brochures, other media.

Your background –

Our team needs a savvy, dedicated, motivated, results-oriented marketing professional. To perform successfully in this role, our idea candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in marketing, English or related field; and 3-5 years marketing and copywriting experience. Demonstrated experience writing creative and persuasive copy for products and services is required. Prior experience marketing conferences, publications and/or association membership, is a plus.

Candidates should possess comprehensive understanding of marketing and communications theory and best practices; experience in writing persuasive copy; experience in working with marketing team and stakeholders on campaigns and developing marketing collateral; experience creating and managing marketing campaigns; demonstrated success in achieving revenue growth and greater market penetration through marketing campaigns; and a willingness to develop a thorough understanding of AILA as an organization and its products, services, customers, challenges and opportunities.

Additionally, position requires superb persuasive copywriting skills; exceptional spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills; ability to write creative headlines and persuasive text; ability to proofread and edit copy; solid knowledge of writing style books and reference manuals; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook); demonstrated knowledge of HTML, and experience managing online content; and a strong customer-service orientation.
