The Millennium Campus Network is transforming the future of global development practice by identifying and supporting key student leaders to:
1) re-think the paradigms that perpetuate inequality, including connecting how our social identities affect our work and including challenging all sectors in their effect on poverty
2) promote a human-centric and collaborative approach to global development based on authentic and community-led partnerships
3) transform dialogue into action by presenting opportunities to act, challenging youth towards advocacy, and celebrating concrete action.
Our Annual Conference, Global Campaigns, and Millennium Fellowship convene university students worldwide to become the people the world needs..
MCN Advisors include Dr. Paul Farmer, Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, and John Legend. Our many committed sponsors and partners include: The Jenzabar Foundation, Hewlett-Packard, The UN Foundation, Better World Campaign, The Boston Globe, and Glamour.
Interns will work out of the MCN’s national headquarters in Boston’s Prudential Center.
Responsibilities
The Millennium Campus Network’s two programs, the Millennium Fellowship and the Millennium Campus Conference, convenes university student organizations working to achieve one or more objectives of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Fellows build their individual organization’s capacity as well as their collective social impact.
As our Marketing Associate Intern, work closely with MCN Staff to 1) tell our story, and 2) recruit passionate and motivated students for our programs..
Tell the MCN story through writing a weekly blog and additional blog posts as requested.
Connect with our community by administering our facebook, twitter, and Instagram accounts.
Communicate announcements and promote MCN opportunities by writing and sending our national newsletter.
Marketing support during occasional Millennium Fellowship sessions: taking photos, writing compelling quotes, and summarizing session impact in a compelling way.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Contributing to mid-year and end-of-year program reports.
Liaising with MCN Staff in in drafting official communications promoting the Millennium Fellowship program.
Directly assist with Fellowship recruitment for Fall 2015, potential to support program expansion into other cities.
Qualifications
Passionate about student organizing, global poverty, the MDGs, and related issues
Demonstrated ability to think critically, make connections between various materials, and write quickly
A clear understanding of what the MCN is and does (be sure to check out our web site).
Satisfactory academic standing and enrollment in a certified college degree program
Experience writing descriptive information mandatory
Graphic design experience strongly preferred
Experience conducting media promotions a plus
Duration
This intern must commit 8 hours per week from January 15, 2016 through April 29, 2016 in our Boston office, and may be needed for select events outside of the city.

This internship is unpaid.
