The mission of The Pablove Foundation is to invest in underfunded, cutting-edge pediatric cancer research, inspire cancer families through education, and improve the lives of children living with cancer through the arts.
The Marketing, Communications and Design Manager works closely with the President/CEO and reports directly to the VP of Development and Communications. This position’s primary responsibilities are to tell compelling stories, both narratively and visually, that engage and inspire our target audiences as well as the general public, to create, design, and distribute marketing and outreach materials, to manage our public relations efforts, and to leverage the power of content, community engagement, and the media to accelerate our impact and to help achieve The Pablove Foundation vision: helping kids with cancer live – a love-filled life today, and a cancer-free life tomorrow.
This position requires excellent project management skills, high level design and publishing skills using InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, superb writing and a working knowledge of all social media platforms and current trends. A skilled multi- tasker, the Manager will be required to interface with senior level staff, volunteers, clients, vendors and a host of other constituents in order to properly align and communicate Pablove’s mission. This is a service position of the organization and requires active participation in supporting all of the departments as needed.
Marketing and Communications
Serve as the primary editorial voice for The Pablove Foundation; write, edit, and ensure that there is consistent communication of the Foundation’s image, brand, and position to external and internal properties
Conceive, create, design, and oversee a range of compelling print and digital collateral including; annual report, brochures, media packets, ads, fact sheets, event invitations, outreach materials, newsletters, fundraising appeals, stationary, business cards, and other branded material
Create and implement marketing strategies for fundraising campaigns and events
Manage a large portfolio of outside contractors, including printers, direct mail houses, photographers and filmmakers.
Maintain Development and Communications calendar
Work with other departments, as needed, to provide consistent outreach materials in keeping with the Pablove branded identity
Media and Public Relations
Manage all public relations efforts by identifying paid and earned media opportunities including advertising and media relationships
Draft and edit press releases, press kits, and pitches
Place stories, respond to media inquiries, and develop and manage media lists and relationships
Prepare Foundation’s President/CEO or Board of Directors members for press, events, or other speaking engagements
Web and Digital
Manage the Pablove websites including content creation and page layout
Create, curate, and manage the digital and social content calendar: writing blog posts, crafting email appeals, writing quarterly e-newsletter, spinning out social media advertising, and designing web banners are all things that you consistently knock out of the park
Develop html e-mails and e-newsletters for target audiences utilizing Constant Contact software.
Develop and execute the Foundation’s community engagement strategy. Manage social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr. Stay on top of the latest social media trends and track new features
Expand our digital reach through engagement and inbound marketing strategies, blog outreach, and data analysis
Administrative
Hire, train, and supervise marketing, communications, and design coordinator
Oversee consultants and contractors, including photographers, graphic designers, printers, and website developers
Support the Vice President of Development & Communications in managing the Marketing and Communications budget
Required Knowledge and Skills
In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences (Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.). Insight into how to deploy social media to best elevate our brand and mission.
Experience with advanced tools to schedule, optimize, and analyze social media messaging.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships. We need a team member who can build – and maintain – relationships in a digital world.
Significant experience and expertise with graphic design.
Excellent creative and analytical skills with the ability to use both interchangeably. You have your eyes and ears open for inspiration to help us become bigger and better.
Functional knowledge of WordPress, Constant Contact email marketing platform, and basic HTML/CSS.
Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Bonus Points: You have created or participated in the creation of video content.
Bonus Points: You take a mean picture (selfies don’t count).
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Four plus years working in a key function in communications and marketing with an emphasis on design.
Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google
All employees at The Pablove Foundation undertake other duties as needed and all positions require flexible work hours, including evening and weekends. Some travel may be required.
