The School Fund (TSF) is an online crowdfunding platform that provides scholarships to high achieving students in the developing world.

We are seeking three motivated Fellows who will be mission-critical members of a small but enthusiastic team working to ensure that all students are able to attend secondary school.

Media and Marketing Fellow

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a wealth of experience in communications and public relations within an education-focused nonprofit. The Media and Marketing Fellow will support our communications efforts through social media management, supporting ongoing communications campaigns, and developing a new collection of external print communications.

This position is ideal for a student interested in Communication, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Social Media, and Arts Administration and would be a terrific opportunity to build portfolio of real life work examples in support of a global nonprofit organization.

Principle responsibilities:

Curate TSF’s campaign calendar and spearhead communications to support these campaigns

Create a new line of external print communications ranging from thank you cards to postcards

Manage TSF’s online presence through: Facebook posts, an Instagram campaign

Develop a new YouTube strategy

Conduct outreach to attract new contributors to our blog

Conduct outreach with our partners to gather communications materials

Contribute to our blog

Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Development Fellow

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a wealth of experience in multiple aspects of fundraising within an education-focused nonprofit. The Development Fellow will learn about all aspects of fundraising for nonprofits, and will have the opportunity to spearhead planning for a small fundraising campaign with an international field partner.

This person will strike the important balance between being adept at meticulous research and writing, while also possessing the people skills to serve as an ambassador for TSF within the funding community and among the general public.

Principle responsibilities:

Assist with Annual Gala planning and execution

Conducting donor research and writing donor profiles

Preparing PowerPoint presentations and materials

Research and write grant proposals

Support the annual appeal through various projects

Craft and mail donor recognition letters

Create donor tracking spreadsheets

Continually update and correct database records

Some data entry

Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

International Education Policy Research and Operations Fellow

This position will offer an opportunity to conduct desk research on education systems where TSF works, analyze TSF’s historical grantmaking data, examine and improve our website’s “back end,” assist with data migration to Customer Relationship Management software, and contribute to white papers and short education policy articles on our blog.

This person must be able to synthesize data in a way that is engaging and meaningful to informed audiences as well as the general public.

Principle responsibilities:

Research and write white papers, blog posts and fact sheets about secondary education and scholarship administration in the developing world.

Curate the sources for global secondary education data.

Identify potential field partners

Input student information into CRM software

Analyze TSF’s historical grantmaking data

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs

Successful candidates will have an interest in human rights, education, excellent research and writing skills, will be detail-oriented and organized, creative, and be able to work independently.

Proficiency in Word, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Docs a must. Experience with Salesforce a plus.
