Position Primary Objectives:

The Director of Outreach and Communication is primarily responsible for the marketing efforts of AFW. The Director of Outreach and Communications will work closely with the Director of Mission Operations, the Development Director and the Executive Director to define and pursue areas of marketing growth for Angel Flight West including, but not limited to Wing Operations, Pilot/Provider/Passenger Outreach and Public Relations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES IN KEY AREAS:

Wing Operations:

Assures Wings are coordinating activities and maximizing resources
Facilitates the operation of the Wing Leadership Teams (WLT)
In conjunction with the ED recruit, train and oversee the Wing Leaders
Plans and executes the Annual Wing Leadership Retreat and other wing specific outreach events
Regularly coordinate the revision of the Wing Operations Manual
Visits Wings to participate in meetings and/or gatherings
Maintain regular communications with Wing Leaders (This includes monthly Wing Leader Teleconferences.)

Outreach:

Working closely with the Wing Leaders, coordinates Outreach initiatives within the Wings
Utilizing the Wings wherever and whenever practical network with healthcare and social service sectors
Build relationships with hospitals and social service agencies
Orchestrate exhibits, health care and social service conferences
Provide in service presentations to hospitals and agencies

Public Relations/Marketing:

Identify public relation opportunities including TV and Publication to help tell the AFW story
Assure timely distribution of e-zine and Newsletter
Oversee AFW social media accounts and messaging
Oversee AFW blog and related content
Develop cause marketing relationships with organizations to increase AFW’s value
Identify and develop marketing relationship with Vendor for branding and other communication pieces
Consult with fundraising efforts on messaging, content, and design

PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing experience, specifically with creating, implementing and maintaining marketing and communication plans
Attention to detail
Expertise with graphic design
College Degree and/or equivalent experience
Management expertise
