Job Statement

The Program Director of the Prison Parent Support Groups will provide supervision to prison group facilitators, develop new in-house groups via collaboration with agencies and facilities and train new facilitators and parent leaders.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop partners and collaborative relationships with prisons, shelters, and other in-house groups.
Work out terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with collaborators including funding for groups.
Make contact with collaborators as needed to evaluate the group’s functioning and maintain a positive working relationship.
Provide qualitative monthly supervision of all Prison Group Facilitators and check-ins as needed.
Facilitate prison groups when necessary to promptly start or avoid the suspension of a group.
Maintain monthly written documentation of ongoing supervision of group facilitators including identifying their strengths and an action plan for areas that need improvement.
Distribute, collect and input quarterly report data.
Distribute and collect Parent Surveys.
Co-train Group Facilitators and Parent Leaders.
Conduct periodic support meetings for prison and in-house group facilitators.
Provide administrative support 4-8 hours per week fulfilling material requests and outreach mailings.
Participate in supervision and staff meetings and take on agency-wide tasks as needed.

Job Specifications

Advanced degree in Education, Social Work, or Psychology preferred.
Experience with group facilitation, parenting support programs preferred.
Experience supervising volunteers, especially in a facilitation role.
Experience in Program Development and new business development.
Collecting and analyzing data to improve program objectives.
Understanding of group process and the prison and shelter systems.
Excellent organizational skills.
