Scope of Role
CFSI is seeking a Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Senior Manager will be a leader in executing strategic marketing and communications goals for the company, including the key aims of: supporting a growing membership network of financial services providers and building the CFSI brand through promoting key publications and thought leadership pieces to the media and across the industry and securing key speaking engagements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Leading the strategy and outreach around CFSI’s key press and media goals, balancing programmatic priorities with overall company impact goals
Establishing and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets, managing inbound and outbound requests and reporting on impact in the marketplace
Managing PR firms and other vendors fluently and easily to create high-quality outputs
Understand and promote the thought leadership activities of CFSI, including managing research paper publication and promotion processes
Leading the speaking engagement strategy and execution
Supporting programs and projects marketing and communications needs, as needed, and balancing against company-wide impact goals
Leading and contributing to strategic planning, vision, and execution of marketing plans
Coaching, mentoring, and managing other team members
Contributing advice and guidance to online communications channels, including communicating to our network and other primary audiences
Contributing to messaging for programs and the mission of the company
Qualifications
5–8 years of communications, public affairs, public relations, or marketing experience.
Previous experience and proven track record of taking on increasing levels of responsibilities.
Financial services industry experience preferred.
Excellent written & oral communication skills.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor Degree required
Applied experience in communications, public affairs, or marketing
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision/management of associates or interns may be required over time.
Position Location(s): Candidates located in Chicago, New York, Washington D.C. or San Francisco (Bay Area) is preferred.
