Foothill Unity Center, Inc., a 501(3)(c) organization assisting very low income and homeless families and individuals in crisis in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California, is seeking a full time Administrative Assistant for their executive office.
Now in its 36th year, the Center provided close to 4 million pounds of food (groceries) to its clients in 2015, along with crisis and emergency services, connections to low/no cost health services, and more. The organization is a federally designated Community Action Agency for the foothill region and part of the national network.
Candidate would provide professional level administrative support to the Executive Director, the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors and be a support system and liaison for the entire organization. Candidate must assure that the mission and values of the organization are upheld and that the face of Foothill Unity Center, Inc. reflects compassion for all, integrity in practices, and professionalism.
Skills and Qualifications include strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to keep information confidential and exercise good judgment. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact graciously with patience, in person and over the telephone with a variety of people. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Excellent English language skills including good spelling, grammar and punctuation are required.
Good organizational skills and the ability to organize work to meet priorities and multitask. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to complete work independently, and to follow through and finish assigned tasks. Must have the ability to work under pressure and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Key qualities are self-motivation, reliability, maturity, responsibility, flexibility, and a sense of humor.
