We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Clubhouse Director at our Columbus Clubhouse in Bronx, NY.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of program staff and the planning, development and oversight of the delivery of clubhouse programs and services in the Priority Outcome Areas of Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship & Healthy Lifestyles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct program staff members and volunteers in all phases of their work
Plan for and conduct staff meetings on a regularly scheduled basis
Effectively communicate with and train staff to be leaders and to embrace the organizational mission
Increase visibility of the Clubhouse and effectively recruit new members and volunteers while maintaining those currently enrolled
Interpret and implement the objectives, standards and programs outlined by the organization as is appropriate for the population of the Clubhouse
Oversee the day-to-day program activities at the Clubhouse to ensure they effectively meet the desired outcomes
Create new programming to meet the needs of the Clubhouse, ensuring that a creative, well-balanced and safe program is provided for all participants
Create a safe and healthy Clubhouse climate for all members
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of the Clubhouse
Required Skills/Knowledge:
A four-year degree from an accredited university/college in a related field and preferably previous experience in a supervisory role or its equivalent
Experience in program development and implementation for an after school program
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Leadership within the clubhouse and organization.
Passion for Youth Development and highly dedicated to the organizational mission
Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 6-18, parents and other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner
