Position Overview
The Assistant Director of the College Success Academy (CSA) will have primary responsibility for overseeing the daily implementation of CSA during the academic year. In partnership with a small team, the Assistant Director will support the Director in leading the development and improvement of key areas such as student recruitment, academic programming, efficient operations, program climate and culture, all with an eye toward future program growth and sustainability. Participation on cross-organizational teams is required to achieve this growth. In addition, the Assistant Director will supervise full time and part time staff. During the academic year the Assistant Director will work a Monday-Friday schedule, and some additional evening and Saturday work is mandatory.

Responsibilities
Manage implementation of school-year academic program, including systems for day-to-day program operations such as safety, communications, food programs, facilities, transportation, and budget.
Supervise full time and part time staff.
As part of Teaching & Learning team, support the development of curriculum and schedule development, hiring and support of seasonal faculty.
Participate in the development of preventative structures, socio-emotional curriculum, and behavior management systems
Manage and develop community and family events
Participate in recruitment and admission process, including marketing, relationship-building, and improving identification and yield of students and families who will be successful in the program.
Identify potential innovations to advance program quality, sustainability, and growth.
With the CSA team, maintain positive relationships between Steppingstone and partner school faculty, administrators, and community-based representatives
Work closely with Director of CSA and organizational leaders in the design and implementation of program expansion.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and college access
Strong relationship-building and group facilitation skills across differing stakeholders including various internal departments, external community-based organizations and BPS
Effective project management with demonstrated flexibility and problem-solving capabilities
Experience in building a strong student culture
Effective classroom management skills
Knowledge of and experience with classroom instruction and tutoring
Fluency in Spanish a plus
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred.
Successful experience working with middle-grade and/or high school students in an urban, multicultural setting.
Knowledge of Boston Public Schools is a plus.
