CCCA seeks a self-starter interested in non-profit work for the position of Development and Operations Assistant (“Assistant”). As a key member of CCCA’s team, the Assistant will support development and policy staff in their wide portfolio of duties, will be responsible for the smooth operation of the office, and will learn all aspects of nonprofit work necessary to grow as a nonprofit professional.
Under supervision, the Assistant will have the following responsibilities:
Development:
Oversee the execution of event logistics from start to finish, including venue, speakers, program, attendees, invitations & other materials; and follow-up including recording relevant information in database
Draft annual Combined Federal Campaign application and represent the organization at charity fairs during campaign season
Data-entry for gifts, correspondence and individual records/notes
Draft and send acknowledgements in timely manner
Coordinate logistics for email and direct mail fundraising appeals and assist with all other areas of giving
Manage the development database
Operations:
Monitor and process all invoices, deposits, data-entry and donation reports; provide materials for bookkeeper on a monthly basis and to the auditors annually
Maintain a functioning office by handling IT issues, mail & email, supplies, organizing electronic and paper files, etc.
Support the CEO in his work with the Board, Committees partner and stakeholders by scheduling meetings, travel, calls, and handling expense reports
Assist with creating, editing and printing educational and promotional materials for special events, campaigns, appeals and other CCCA needs
Recruit and manage interns; provide supervision as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree required
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Professional demeanor, good judgment, and the ability to work independently, but collaboratively, in goal-oriented environment
Strong listening skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to accurately follow directions
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to deadlines
Ability to juggle multiple priorities
Ability to travel 2-3 times per year
Commitment to respect and maintain confidentiality of donor information
Preferred:
Experience working or interning in a non-profit development department
Proficiency in eTapestry or an equivalent fundraising database
Proficient in Quickbooks or an equivalent accounting software
Interest in humanitarian work
