Forest Trends is an international not-for-profit forest conservation organization based in Washington, D.C., that works to achieve sustainable forest management and conservation by capturing market values for ecosystem services (water purification, flood control, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity conservation); supporting innovative projects and companies that are developing these new markets; and enhancing the livelihoods of local communities living in and around those forests.
We are seeking a Development Intern to participate in the process of strengthening and implementing organizational systems for donor outreach and fundraising.
The candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience with development and implementation of organizational systems to manage donor relations in a non-profit setting.
Qualifications include:
Excellent proficiency with Excel,
knowledge of database software is preferred but not required,
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences,
Ability to manage time, diverse activities and meet deadlines, and
Common sense, flexibility, and teamwork with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
